Summertime is on its way and one's thoughts turn to one thing: ROAD TRIP!!!!
Before you go on a road trip, you need to get your car ready. A
scheduled trip to the service station BEFORE you go is so much better than DURING your trip. I mean who wants to be stuck in hot and sticky Western Podunk, when you could be out letting the wind rip through your hair on Route 66!
So , I've been checking around the internet and have come up with things you should do for your car BEFORE your trip. It seems like normal maintenance, and a number of maintenance sites call it de-wintering, or something like that. Basically, they all suggest things along this line:
SUMMER MAINTENANCE:
1. Check your tires
2. Check your oil
3. Check your fluid levels
4. Check your coolant, antifreeze
5. Have your A/C looked at
6. Get your battery examined/cleaned
7. Have your belts inspected
8. Get your brakes examined
Ok, I may have missed something so to be sure, I did some additional checking and found this site: How Stuff Works-Top Ten Car Summer Maintenance Tips by Dave Roos. It's good stuff!
Check it out.
