TALES FROM THE AUTOMOBILE CHALLENGED!

Ok. Yes, I did have heels on. My nails were done too and I was "concerned", shall we say, about them getting broken or scratched. I looked good that day. Get the picture. Now I know the STEPS to change a tire. The process. I will admit there maybe some flaws when it comes to application. I think I did ok for being in a skirt and heels.

I opened the latch to let the spare tire down. Amazingly it only took 20 minutes to do that using only my thumb and forefinger! I dropped the tire and bent underneath the car and dragged that bad boy out from under carefully using the two middle fingers! Not a good mental picture of me half under a car...poor passersby, my apologies...though you didn't stop to HELP, did you?!

By the way, do you have any idea how much Purell it takes to get that black grime off of your hands!

You see the real problems start when taking the flat tire off. I knew to get that huge wrench to get the bolts off. I got this, right? I'm cool, calm. So far so good right? I hopped up and down on the wrench to loosen the bolts. I hopped some more. Then I started jumping, then kicking, then hurling insults at it. Yeah, I know, THAT's hot! In my heels, all angry and hostile, hopping up and down with all my might on a wrench that only moved maybe a quarter of an inch!

Two hours go by and I am a hot mess. My hair came down, nails are broken, I am all out of Purell. My outfit was fine. Didn't get a lick of dirt on it. And my tire, you know that piece of crap was still on there!

Ok, a nice man came along finally and helped me. He probably felt pitty for me. All that time I was afraid to look behind me and see the numbers of spectators that would be there like it was the fourth of July and I was the fireworks show. He had no trouble getting the bolts off. (after all, I did loosen them for him!)

Anyway, he told me I did a great job! So there!
