Road Trippin'

Summertime is on its way and one's thoughts turn to one thing: ROAD TRIP!!!!

Before you go on a road trip, you need to get your car ready. A scheduled trip to the service station BEFORE you go is so much better than DURING your trip. I mean who wants to be stuck in hot and sticky Western Podunk, when you could be out letting the wind rip through your hair on Route 66!

So , I've been checking around the internet and have come up with things you should do for your car BEFORE your trip. It seems like normal maintenance, and a number of maintenance sites call it de-wintering, or something like that. Basically, they all suggest things along this line:

SUMMER MAINTENANCE:

1. Check your tires

2. Check your oil

3. Check your fluid levels

4. Check your coolant, antifreeze

5. Have your A/C looked at

6. Get your battery examined/cleaned

7. Have your belts inspected

8. Get your brakes examined

Ok, I may have missed something so to be sure, I did some additional checking and found this site: How Stuff Works-Top Ten Car Summer Maintenance Tips by Dave Roos. It's good stuff!
Check it out.

I had to get my oil changed and rear light replaced!

They kept telling me that I had a tail light out. I backed up to the garage door and hit the brakes and looked. Everything looked ok. All of my lights were working!
I parked the car and looked...all A-OK! Still people were telling me my tail light is out.

I brought it to service. I needed an oil change anyway. I was overdue by 200 miles. I didn't say anything and hopefully no one would notice and be shocked. Nothing. Yay! The only question was "which tail light is out?" "The one in the back that's not working", I said in my authoritative voice.

I trust our service department. Its a good thing too, because I haven't the foggiest notion about cars. They take good care of me, a car challenged individual. They are proud of me because I knew my car is white and has wheels. I am proud of them because they know what they are doing and a they do it with a smile each and every time. See our Service page for pictures!

Well, I got my oil changed and had my light replaced...or at least I think I did, who knows...
